Coming Soon

hey uhh, there's no hyperlink pointing to this page so you should know that this is kinda not polished at all, just wanna get the page up and running while we figure out the rules to this

Right, so so far we got the following:

Modifier Changes

  • Seperate deck, each player chooses 3 modifiers to be shuffled before the match.
  • Getting new modifiers: at the begging of each new round (no repeats), a new modifier is picked. In a 4-player hanchan, there's 8 cards picked out of 12. (sanma: 6 are chosen of 9).
  • New modifiers — can't use the modifiers from The Cosmic Deck.

Different Card Types

  • New types — Character, Hyper, Nullify
  • Changes — Modifier (see above), Action (previously Event)
  • Nullify — Multiple copies (number yet to be decided), negate the effects of an Action card. Played in response to Actions.
  • Character — Choose a character to play as before the match, they have a special ability and an archetype assigned to each.
  • Hyper — Players' special abilities. Uncounterable Action cards that can only be used by players with the right character. If you draw another player's Hyper, you may reveal and reshuffle it into the deck and draw 2 cards.

Action Cards

  • You can hold cards now! (yipee!!)
  • At the beginning of the match, shuffle in the Action cards and Hyper cards into the Actions deck.
  • At the beginning of each hand, draw a card.
  • If you lost points because of a Ron or Tsumo last hand, draw an additional card. (No-ten payments do not count) ((nagashi mangan is a replacement of no-ten payments and DO count))
  • Like the old Events, these cards' effects happen once then are discarded.

Player Cards

  • Four different archetypes — Haku, Hatsu, Chun, Ao
  • Haku — White Dragon; focuses on quick and dirty hands that gradually get stronger. Small hands like pinfu and riichi nomi are their bread and butter
  • Hatsu — Green Dragon; focuses on Dora. Revealing new indicators, getting nukidora, rishan kaihou, ippatsu bonuses, etc.
  • Chun — Red Dragon; focuses on large hands. Flushes are their best friend. They go for the throat, even if it takes the whole round to do it
  • Ao — Kazepai; focuses on defense. Lying in wait for their moment to strike, shutting down actions and negating han
  • Each player card has an archetype tied to them and synergise with Actions and Modifiers that match their philosophy.

Hyper Cards

  • Each character has their own Hyper card.
  • Hyper cards are shuffled into the Actions deck along with Nullify and Action cards.
  • Hyper cards can only be played by the player with the character

Actions and Stocks

  • Action — Play at any time, preform an action once then discard
  • Stock — Play during your turn only, lasting effect, discarded after hand.

Things we need to discuss

  • How many cards do we start with?
  • When can you play Action cards? Hyper cards?
  • Will there be a price attatched to Action/Hyper cards? I think we said they could be on some, but not all.
  • Do yall like the exception mentioned for Nagashi Mangan? or should it be treated as no-ten payments. I argue it should be treated like a tsumo since it does replace no-ten payments, but it is still a ryuukyoku and a renchan does still happen if oya is tenpai, so i can see it being both ways. But i feel like since it does hurt like a mangan, you should get treated with an extra carderino
  • as mentioned in the modifers section, these cards are different from the original The Cosmic Deck so those ones shouldn't be used with World;Breaker.
  • oh also i refitted the World;Breaker name for this
  • oh also i renamed original Chaos;Jan to The Cosmic Deck
  • Are there gonna be different types of Actions? I feel like using the Event name again for Actions that have lasting effects be called an event would be nice.
  • lmk if you take issue with the colour archetypes i wrote
  • Changed the name of "player card" to "character card" to avoid confusion between the card type and the person playing the game
  • Should hypers be able to be nullified? I think not so that people dont just hold onto nullifies just to shut down hypers. itd suck to pull your hyper and then just not be able to do anything with it
